Bells and Bubbles

The title of todays' post really doesn't have much to do with anything. I just like the aliteration of those two words...I'm sitting in my international fares class...freaking out because we have some sort of assessment next week. I'm getting a bit frustrated with all the finicky details that we are learning about...especially since the computer system does it all for us anyway!

So I voted yesterday since i'll be in Melbourne this weekend. Pre-polling is awesome! I've never done it before but I think i'll be doing it for every election now. I can show up whenever I want to vote, there's less of queue, and less old people badgering you with those stupid 'How to vote' cards! Tip for voters...just pretend you are going to be absent on voting day!

I'm looking forward to my journey to Melbourne, but I think i will be spending a lot of time being a tourist by myself. I think it will be nice to have some time out to think about life and other spectacularly profound things like that...I'm hoping to make my way to Avalon for the airshow at some point during the weekend.

I'm also last minute shopping to find a laptop that I can get salary sacrificed before the 31st March. Darn it!

The biggest drama i've had this week is the negotiation to stay on in my miserable job...although it's decently paid, I really don't want to stay. Everyone I know is leaving at the end of june too...but after much deliberation and discussion with some people, the general consensus was that I should stay on for another 6 months. A lot of it was advice given to me by D. and P. that the amount of savings that I have will not be sufficient for me to open a business in VN (especially to deal with all the bribes)...So i guess I will be in Sydney for yet another 6 months! Boo!

So to all those who were expecting me to visit...i'm so sorry guys! You have no idea! I'm disappointed I won't be travellin for awhile either :(
So ending on a boo note!!

Oh before I go also, anyone who wants to go to a Ben Kweller concert with me in April...give me a yell! Seems no one wants to go with me :( Another boo!

Bombshells...

And not the 'hot-omg so stunning' type of bombshell.

My parents' friends had a 'bombshell party' last night...these events tend to occur once every couple of months when they have a secret of sorts to share with everyone else. A 'bombshell'...last night one of them got a new job and so took us all out to eat some brilliant seafood - yum for crabs, lobsters and scallops! (on an aside...I should really add the ability to eat seafood as a ++ points to my list). It was nice, but it was another weekend where I was stuffed with food.

Earlier in the day though we did the bay walk around Canada bay. It was nice to be active, and a bonus that it didn't rain! We had brunch in the worst restaurant ever (okay slight exaggeration) in Rozelle...'La Grande Bouffe'. They obviously have spent more money on the website than on the chef. Anyway...everyone make a mental note, give that place a skip!
