Here Comes the Bride!

How quickly can a wedding be organised is the challenge for the week!
My cousin has just announced her engagement last Friday. Now...in normal circles it consists of "... engagement party, hens night and then wedding" in a period of roughly about 1 year. For my cousin however, it is less than 13 days! Can someone beat that record?

Most of the urgency has come about due to the fact that my grandparents are going overseas indefinately in 2 weeks, and my uncle wants them there. The end result is the entire extended family going into a panic about what to do, when to do it, and the most important thing for me is...what the hell do I wear?

Of course, the obvious question was asked "why?". Being the cynical person I am, the first question suggested that she was pregnant - which was profusely denied. I believe she said something to the effect of "I've got nothing better to do!". Which makes me believe that marriage is no longer of importance to the youth of today. It does not seem like people think about the long run...and it feels like people feel comfortable and independent enough to survive should a marriage fail. So it's more like a "trial" ending in 'C'est la vie' when it comes down to it, rather than 'till death do us part'.

Anyway, the more people around me that get married the more I realise how my biological clock is tick tick ticking away!
