Sociopaths...are you one?

So my latest obsession has been with this new book I ordered on Amazon "The sociopath next door". I think everyone is totally sick of me talkin' about it, but it's one of the most interesting things I've read in a really long time. Basically Martha Stout, this psychologist has this theory that 1 in 25 people (in the western world) are sociopaths. The thing about it is that sociopaths aren't all murderers, by definition they are people without conscience. So what she is saying is that people tend to adapt and behave how society 'expects' them to, even though they don't emotionally feel attachment to other living creatures. For example, they have adapted themselves to show grief and be sympathetic when someone dies, but they don't REALLY feel anything at all. This theory does make me think...I'm pretty sure I have come across at least 1 person so far in my life that may be a sociopath...who else is out there?
On the plus side, my chances of being one are quite slim. Apparently only 3 in 100 East Asians are sociopaths! Hooray for that.

In my fabulous Amazon purchase I also finally got those Sister Hazel CD's I've been talking about for almost a year now! It's so lovely when you get a parcel in the mail (even if it was an online purchase that you ordered yourself), and it's full of things that you love! :-) One of my favourite feelings in the whole world!

Went to the Hunter V. again with peoples this last weekend, over indulged in food and wine (my weaknesses!)...then on Sunday my cousin cooked some singapore chilli crab. So Yum-ness! I guess weekends are not working out for my health kick!

I will leave everyone to think about what the formula is for the area of a triangle! - and i'm hoping that I am not the only one that has forgotten this since school! It does however seem that everyone I have asked has remembered! I am trying to justify my failing memory by tellin' myself that I have replaced that portion of my brain with something more useful :-) This of course is triggered by my new favourite American show 'Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader' - which I apparently am not!

    Hey K. That's a really interesting book.

The whole sociopath statistic is quite scary. (Are we considered East Asian?)

Mind if I have a borrow?
I'll swap you for something of my shelf. Either tell what kinda stuff you're into, otherwise I'll pick something interesting for you :)
